Suspicious Fires - Rural Area

Police

The Northern Territory Fire and Rescue Service have requested public assistance after two deliberately lit fires in the past two days.

The area between Stow Road and Howard Springs road has been targeted twice by an alleged arsonist.

Fire crews have been kept busy trying to extinguish the flames in increasingly hostile weather conditions.

The fire service asks residents and visitors to be on the lookout for vehicles or people acting in a suspicious manner near or around developing fire situations.

Fire crews are on high alert due to a total fire ban in place from Darwin to Adelaide River.

Dry weather and windy conditions in the North West Top End have led to the extreme fire danger and conditions will be the same for the next few days.
