A 45-year-old woman will face court after allegedly stabbing her husband in the leg while he slept

Police received a report just after 10.30pm on Saturday  that  a man had been stabbed at a unit in  Lyndavale Drive, Larapinta.

The 54-year-old victim was taken to Alice Springs Hospital  where he was treated and allowed to leave the following day.

The woman was arrested and will be summonsed to appear in the Alice Springs Magistrates Court at a later date where she will be charged with assaulting a person who suffered serious harm and engaging in conduct  which contravenes a Domestic Violence Order.
