Police arrest two men for offences in Katherine

Two men have been arrested in relation to an unlawful entry, stealing and criminal damage incident that occurred at about 9.50 pm on Saturday, 25 June 2011, at a Katherine business.

Police received a call from a member of the public about suspicious activity at the business premises on Saturday night.

Police immediately attended and were able to recover all of the stolen property and apprehend one of the men at the scene, a 28-year-old. 

The second man, a 22-year-old, was located and arrested by Police in Katherine yesterday, Wednesday 29 June. Both men have now been charged with numerous offences, including unlawful entry. 

Detective Senior Sergeant Clint Sims said it is a great example of the community working together with police.

“The prompt actions by the witness to alert police to this incident meant that the owners of the business premises were spared the permanent loss of property,” said Detective Senior Sergeant Clint Sims.


Police are requesting that persons who may have witnessed the incident to call 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
