The Northern Territory road toll now stands at 18 after a fatal crash on the Arnhem Highway this afternoon.

The crash was reported to Police at around 2:30pm and occurred approximately 30kms east of the Adelaide River Crossing.

The female driver was the sole occupant of the vehicle and died at the scene.

Police are investigating the incident to identify the driver and determine the exact circumstances surrounding the crash.

Earlier this morning, a 23-year-old Territory man died after his 4WD rolled approximately 26kms north of Adelaide River.

This now takes the NT road toll to 18 compared to 21 for the same period last year.
