Charged for Stabbing Death - Nhulunbuy

Police have charged a 47-year-old female with murder following an incident that occurred in Nhulunbuy on Wednesday 29 June 2011.

It is alleged that two females aged 44 and 47 were involved in an altercation at a residence in Nhulunbuy at around 11:15 pm on Wednesday, resulting in the 44-year-old victim receiving a puncture wound to her chest.

St John Ambulance members conveyed the victim to Gove District Hospital however she died a short time later.

Major Crime Detectives travelled to Nhulunbuy and have today charged the offender with murder. She was remanded in custody and is to appear in the Darwin Magistrates Court on Monday 4 July 2011.
