Assault - Jingili - Update

Police have now released a comfit image of the alleged offender involved in an assault that occurred in Jingili on Tuesday night.

It is alleged that an 18-year-old woman was walking her dog along Jingili Terrace at around 6:15 pm when the incident occurred.

She was grabbed from behind and pulled to the ground, before her dog bit the offender’s ankle, causing him to flee the area.

The offender is described to be of African appearance, between 17 – 20 years of age and approximately 182 cm’s tall. He had short black hair, a broad nose and at the time of the incident was wearing a grey polo shirt, red shorts, white Nike running shoes and a heavy silver chain.

Detective Sergeant Len Turner from the General Crime Section said that at that time of the afternoon, Jingili Terrace would likely be filled with people.

“We believe that there were numerous people outdoors at the location when the incident took place and I urge anyone that may have witnessed the incident, or who may recognise this man, to contact Police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000,” said Detective Sergeant Len Turner.
