Arrested - Over $90,000 worth of Drugs Seized

Police

NT Police Drug and Organised Crime Detectives yesterday arrested a 39-year-old man in Jingili following the seizure of $90,000 worth of methamphetamines together with some cannabis, steroids and a trafficable quantity of ecstasy.

Scales and cash were also seized.

The man will face court this morning facing a range of drug related charges including the supply of dangerous drugs.

Detective Senior Sergeant Peter Schiller said this significant seizure and arrest follows the successful Police Strike Force Nemesis which concluded earlier this week,

"Police will continue to target these mid to high level dealers following the excellent results achieved during Strike Force Nemesis.

“There are criminal elements in the community who are solely involved in this grubby market in order to make a profit with no regard for public safety.

"Drug dealing affects everyone in our community, not just those who deal or abuse them.

"There are direct links to property theft, and other crimes committed against the community.

"We are putting drug dealers on notice that they remain firmly in our sights.

"The community can also get involved by ensuring any information with regards to drug activity or people in possession of stolen property is provided to Police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000." Detective Senior Sergeant Schiller said.
