Aggravated Assault - Alice Springs

Alice Springs Police are calling for public assistance after a 45-year-old man was assaulted yesterday.

Police were alerted to the incident at about 3:00am after two unknown males unlawfully entered the victim's home on Gap Road and proceeded to assault him.

It is alleged the victim and three other people were sitting in his lounge room, when the two offenders entered the premises armed with a hockey stick and a tyre leaver. The offender with the hockey stick repeatedly struck the victim to the arms before the pair fled the scene.

The victim was conveyed to Alice Springs Hospital by Ambulance as a precaution and has since been discharged.

Police immediately attended the scene and conducted patrols of the area, however, have not yet located the alleged offenders.

Investigations are continuing and police are calling for anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the area to contact them on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
