Police

It is alleged the two men, aged 24 and 31, gained entry to the Memorial Club just before 2:30 am by throwing several large rocks through the windows and crawling through.

Once inside the men packed a milk crate and bucket with various bottles and cans of alcohol before exiting through the back door.

Police were patrolling the area and observed the two men walking from the club with the stolen alcohol. After a short foot pursuit, the two men were arrested.

Approximately $750.00 worth of alcohol was stolen and extensive damage was received to poker machines, windows, stock and a neon sign.

The two men will appear in Alice Springs Magistrates court today in relation to the following offences:
Unlawful entry
Criminal damage
Stealing
Armed with an offensive weapon

"The quick thinking and actions by members patrolling the area resulted in the quick apprehension of these offenders, it is a great result for police and the community" Sergeant Trent Abbott said.
