Major Crime Detectives and Alyangula Police are currently investigating the suspicious death of a 47-year-old woman at Salt Lake Outstation over the weekend.

Police were alerted to the death by Alyangula Health Clinic staff after the woman was taken to the clinic by a group of people at 1:30 pm on Saturday.

The woman appears to have suffered injuries to her head and body consistent with having been assaulted.

Police have not arrested or charged anyone at this stage and are continuing to investigate the incident.
