Alice Springs Police are calling for public assistance after $90,000 worth of surveying equipment was stolen from the southern rural area of Alice Springs yesterday.

It is alleged that between 3.00 pm and 3.15 pm, while surveyors were working at the intersection of Heffernan Road and Colonel Rose Drive, unknown persons stole their equipment from the roadside.

The surveying equipment was in two Pelican brand carry cases and contained items that are unique to conducting surveying duties.

The surveying equipment is valued at approximately $90,000.

Police urge members of the public who saw anyone acting suspicious in the area or who know of someone trying to sell or who are in the possession of surveying equipment to call them on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
