Single Vehicle Rollover - Timber Creek

Police

Police believe the 29-year-old female driver struck a puddle of water causing her to lose control of the vehicle, leave the roadway and roll.

A Male passenger in the rear seat was thrown 14 metres from the vehicle and sustained serious injuries. The man was not wearing a seat belt. He has been medically evacuated to Perth today and is in a serious but stable condition.

The driver and the two other passengers only received minor injuries.

The four occupants of the vehicle are international tourists. They were travelling west along the highway in a Toyota Hilux.

Officer In Charge at Timber Creek Police Station, Michael Lunney, said this accident acts as a timely reminder to slow down during the wet season and to always wear a seat belt.

"Drivers should slow down and be cautious in wet conditions.

"Everyone also needs to remember the importance of seat belts.

"This man may not have sustained serious injuries if he was wearing a seat belt," he said.
