Road Train Rollover - Mount Bundy

Police

Northern Territory Police, Fire and Emergency Services were called to the scene of a road train rollover on the Arnhem Highway at approximately 10:20 pm last night.

Police believe the rear trailer of the road train left the road causing the two rear trailers to roll approximately 15 kilometres north of Corroboree Park.

The 42-year-old male driver had allegedly moved his road train over slightly on the road due to another road train passing and having its rear trailer whip out on it.

Both lanes of the Arnhem Highway were blocked until approximately 6:45 am this morning at which point cranes had removed the trailers from the road. The rollover caused extensive damage to both rear trailers.

The road train was transporting gravel and sand from Mount Bundy to Darwin.

Nobody was injured as a result of the accident.

Alcohol is not believed to be involved and no charges are expected to be laid against either driver.
