A man will appear in the Alice Springs Magistrates Court after allegedly biting a security on the arm yesterday.

The 24-year-old security guard told police he was trying to remove the heavily intoxicated man from the Yeperenye Shopping Centre just before 6pm last night. The man violently resisted as he was being escorted off the premises and during the incident allegedly bit the security guard on the bicep breaking the skin.

The 37-year-old offender has been charged with assault and will appear in the Alice Springs Magistrates Court today.
