Darwin Police arrested a 29-year-old female last night after she stabbed a man in the chest at a unit complex on Parap road.

Police attended the disturbance at approximately 07.00 pm and believe a verbal argument between the pair had escalated to the stabbing.

The 38-year-old male was conveyed to Royal Darwin Hospital by St Johns Ambulance and is expected to be released today.

The offender is currently in Police custody and will be interviewed later this morning.

Police believe the pair are known to each other.
