Arrests for unlawful entries -Alice Springs

Three teenagers have been arrested for a series of unlawful entries in Alice Springs last week.

One of the youths had been bailed on Saturday May 29 for unrelated matters when he attempted to break-into a home in Kempeana Crescent three days later (Tuesday, June 1). He was identified by an off-duty police officer however he fled the scene.

On Wednesday police received reports of three more unlawful entries in Abrahams Crescent, Malara Crescent and Gosse Street. Police arrested three youths - two aged 15 and another aged 16 - in Rotoract Park on Wednesday. The group were found to be in possession of the stolen property which included clothing, ipods and bicycles, when they were arrested.

They have been charged with three counts of unlawful entry, three of stealing and one of criminal damage. One of the 16-year-olds was also charged with attempted unlawful entry of the Kempeana Crescent house.

All three will face the Youth Justice Court this month.

Meanwhile two more males aged 15 and 13, were arrested last Monday, (May 31) after allegedly breaking into residences in Lewis Street, Pedlar Avenue and Gason Street.

Police arrested the pair shortly after the incidents and found them in possession of USB drives and ipod and cash which was allegedly stolen from the premises.

The pair will be considered for Youth Diversion.
