3 x unlawful entry - Alice Springs

Police

Police are calling for public assistance after three homes in Desert Springs were broken into yesterday.

Police allege that entry to the first home was gained by lifting the laundry window off its rails and reaching around to open the door.

Approximately $16,000 worth of goods was stolen, mainly electrical items including laptop computers, mobile phones, digital cameras and a movie projector.

Police also discovered the offenders had attempted to hot wire a Toyota Landcruiser, which was located in the garage.

The other two residences are still being investigated.

Sergeant Trent Abbott said: "There was a large amount of property stolen which leads us to believe there is more than one offender.

"We believe the unlawful entries occurred between the hours of 8:00am and 8:00pm and that the offender/s has spent substantial time going through the properties."

Inquiries are continuing and police ask that anyone with information should contact police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
