It has been another disappointing night for police arresting five drivers for drink driving and speed related offences between 5:30 pm yesterday and 4:00 am this morning.

At 5:30 pm yesterday a 24-year-old male driving a Holden Commodore was stopped on the Arnhem Highway after Police witnessed him travelling at 167 km's an hour.

He is to be summonsed to appear in court to face charges of driving speed dangerous to the public.

A 50-year-old male driving a Mazda RX8 on the Stuart Highway in Winnellie was stopped by police after he was observed driving recklessly at approximately 1:20 am.

He returned a breath analysis reading of 0.089 percent, had his license immediately removed and was later charged with medium range drink driving.

At 2:10 am a 23-year-old female was stopped by police on Bagot Road. She returned a breath analyses reading of 0.161 percent and was arrested and charged with high range drink driving, driving unlicensed, unregistered and uninsured.

A 23-year-old male driving a Toyota Corolla on Frances Bay Drive was stopped by police for the purpose of a road side breath test. He later returned a reading of 0.106 percent and is summonsed to appear in court for driving unlicensed and medium range drink driving.

Police received reports of a stolen motor vehicle at approximately 3:45 this morning from a residence in Jingili.

A 16-year-old male youth was found to be driving the Toyota Hilux and returned a breath analyses reading of 0.120 percent.

He was charged with unlawfully using a motor vehicle, interfering with a motor vehicle and criminal damage.
