Police are concerned for the welfare of three tourists who failed to return from a sight-seeing trip yesterday.

Police received a report just before 9.30am today from a person who was to meet the trio on their return to Alice Springs. The man told police the three Belgium tourists who were travelling in a red Ford Falcon station wagon with Queensland registration 053 LHY, left Ormiston Gorge at 11.15 yesterday. They were to have visited Serpentine Gorge and the Ochre Pits before returning to Alice Springs. The man became concerned when they failed to contact him as arranged.

Police from Hermannsburg searched the area where the party were said to have been travelling, however, they found no sign of them.

Police are urging anyone with information about the three men or anyone who may have seen a car fitting the description given to contact them on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
