Charges – Domestic Violence – Alice Springs

The Northern Territory Police Force has arrested and charged a 31-year-old male in relation to a domestic violence incident that occurred yesterday evening in Alice Springs.

Around 7:20pm, the Joint Emergency Services Communication Centre received a report of a domestic disturbance occurring at a residence on Lackman Terrace.

It is alleged the 31-year-old physically assaulted his partner aged in her 20s, including kicking and punching her multiple times. He also allegedly damaged property at the residence.

A family member of the offender aged in his 20s, and who lawfully possesses OC spray, intervened and allegedly deployed the OC spray on the offender to prevent further assault from occurring.

Police attended and arrested the 31-year-old. He has since been charged with:

  • Aggravated Assault
  • Threats to Kill
  • Damage Property

He was remanded to appear in court today.
