Charges – Domestic Violence – Alice Springs

The Northern Territory Police Force has arrested and charged a 28-year-old male in relation to domestic violence offending which occurred on Friday evening in Alice Springs.

It is alleged late on Friday night, the offender struck his female partner aged in her 20s to the back of her head with a glass bottle, resulting in the bottle smashing on impact.

The victim fell to the ground and her hands landed on the broken glass. She sustained a laceration to the back of her head and significant lacerations to her hands and wrists. Emergency services attended the Sadadeen residence and was conveyed to the Alice Springs Hospital for treatment.

The 28-year-old was arrested on Saturday evening and has been charged with Recklessly Endanger Serious Harm and Aggravated Assault. He was refused bail and will appear in the Alice Springs Local Court today.
