A 17-year-old youth has been arrested after threatening staff with a broken bottle at a suburban Palmerston supermarket yesterday.
About 6.40pm, the Joint Emergency Services Communications Centre received a report of multiple alarms sounding at the supermarket.
A further report indicated the offender had entered the store armed with the broken bottle and was stealing items.
Northern Territory Police attended the scene and arrested the offender after he was restrained on the ground outside the business premises by the store manager.
The youth remains in custody and investigations are ongoing.
