The Northern Territory Police Force (NTPF) continues its search for 42-year-old Ricky, who was last seen on Sunday in Lajamanu community.
On Tuesday 29 September, police received a report from his family that Ricky had not been seen or heard from since around 9am on Sunday 27 September.
He was last sighted walking away from the community wearing a black shirt and black shorts. Initial searches completed have been unable to locate Ricky.
Members from the NTPF Search and Rescue Section (SRS) were stood up and travelled to the community to assist in the search, including deploying a helicopter at first light yesterday morning.
A multiagency search is continuing in the area today with the assistance of members from the NTPF SRS, Lajamanu Police, Territory Response Group, NT Emergency Services, Lajamanu Rangers, NT Helicopter Operations, and Helimuster.
SRS Mission Coordinator Senior Constable Ben Parfitt said, “We are doing everything we can to locate Ricky as quickly as possible, and we have significant concerns for his safety and welfare given the harsh terrain and conditions.
“We continue to urge anyone with information that may assist in locating Ricky to come forward.
“We are particularly keen to speak with anyone who may have seen or spoken with Ricky on Sunday 27 September, or at any time over the past five days.”
