Northern Territory Police have charged a 37-year-old man with nine child abuse material offences following a joint investigation with the Australian Federal Police and New South Wales Police Force.

On 9 September 2026, the Northern Territory Joint Anti Child Exploitation Team (NT JACET) received a referral from the NSW Police Force Child Exploitation Internet Unit.

Police had allegedly identified a Northern Territory-based man operating across encrypted platforms and participating in online child exploitation groups.

On Monday 14 September 2026, NT Police detectives and AFP agents attached to NT JACET executed a search warrant at a residence in Woodroffe.

Investigators seized a mobile device that allegedly contained applications and accounts linked to the investigation, as well as child abuse material.

The man was arrested and conveyed to the Palmerston Watch House, where he was charged with:

• Four counts of using a carriage service to transmit child abuse material
• Three counts of using a carriage service to access child abuse material
• One count of using a carriage service to solicit child abuse material
• One count of possessing or controlling child abuse material.

He was remanded to appear in Darwin Local Court today.
