Disturbance – Nightcliff

The Northern Territory Police Force is investigating a large disturbance that occurred in Nightcliff earlier today.

Around 1:30pm, the Joint Emergency Services Communication Centre received multiple reports of a group of people engaged in fighting.

It is alleged up to 30 people alighted from a bus at the corner of Progress Drive and Phoenix Street, before a number of them began fighting nearby, some allegedly armed with weapons.

Police responded and located a 30-year-old male with serious but non-life-threatening injuries to his lower legs. He received initial treatment at the scene before being conveyed to Royal Darwin Hospital for further treatment.

The group dispersed upon police arrival and investigations are ongoing to identify and locate the offenders involved.
