The Northern Territory Police Force is investigating following a domestic violence aggravated assault that occurred in Palmerston yesterday evening.
Around 6:55pm, the Joint Emergency Services Communication Centre received a report that a male in his 20s had been assaulted by a female known to him at an address in Woodroffe.
It is alleged the offender assaulted him with a blunt weapon, resulting in a deep laceration to his back.
Police attended and a crime scene was established. The weapon was located and seized, and the victim was conveyed to hospital by St John Ambulance in a stable condition.
The 30-year-old female offender fled the scene prior to arrival and efforts are ongoing to locate her.
