The Northern Territory Police Force has arrested a 17-year-old female in relation to an aggravated assault that occurred yesterday evening in Alice Springs.
Around 10:25pm, the Joint Emergency Services Communication Centre received a report that a female was attempting to steal a vehicle from a unit complex on Gnoilya Street.
It is alleged a female aged in her 30s and a male aged in his 40s witnessed the offender unlawfully entering their neighbour’s vehicle and confronted her. The offender allegedly physically assaulted both victims with a glass bottle and a stick.
The male victim attempted to restrain the offender and was allegedly bitten on the foot.
The 17-year-old fled the scene but was arrested nearby with assistance from the police drone.
Both victims were assessed at the scene for minor injuries, with the male victim attending hospital for further treatment.
The 17-year-old has since been charged with two counts Aggravated Assault and remanded in custody to appear in court today.
