Northern Territory Police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred earlier today off the Buntine Highway.

Around 9:45am, police received reports of a two vehicle collision on a station road, off the Buntine Highway, around 260kms from Katherine.

Police and Careflight deployed to the scene and the sole female occupant of the vehicle was located with serious injuries.

At 12:50pm, she was declared deceased at the scene.

A crime scene has been established, and the Major Crash Investigation Unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
