Northern Territory Police have arrested a male following an Aggravated burglary, Robbery and Motor vehicle theft in Woodroffe during the early hours of this morning.
Around 1:40am, police received reports that up to 3 offenders had unlawfully entered a residence on Baldwin Drive, Woodroffe.
The residents allegedly returned to their home while the offenders where there, before being threatened and fleeing the scene.
The offenders then also fled the location after stealing a vehicle.
Detectives from the Serious Crime Section conducted extensive investigations, including CCTV and witness canvassing, which led to the identification of a male.
At about 1:45pm, detectives received information regarding the male's whereabouts in Woodroffe. Police attended the area and located the male, calling on him to surrender. The male fled on foot in an attempt to evade police.
Palmerston General Duties members and Strike Force Trident established a cordon which continued to move as the offender fled. Subsequent tracking of the offender resulted in his arrest in Gray at about 2pm.
Detective Senior Sergeant Darren Burns said, "The swift identification and arrest of this male is a direct result of proactive investigative work, assistance from members of the public and a coordinated response by police. Investigations remain ongoing and we continue to appeal for anyone with information to come forward."
