Northern Territory Police have arrested a 39-year-old man in relation to multiple alleged historical sexual and violent offences involving children.
The man was arrested in Darwin today following an extensive investigation by detectives.
Police will allege the offending occurred over several years and involved multiple child victims. The investigation relates to alleged historical sexual offences against two child victims, as well as numerous aggravated assaults against another child victim.
The man is expected to be charged with more than 35 offences, including aggravated assault, sexual intercourse child under 10 years old and sexual intercourse under 16 years old.
Anyone who has experienced sexual violence or abuse, or who has information relating to offending against children, is encouraged to contact police. Reports can be made anonymously, and support services are available for victims and survivors who require assistance.
