Drug charges - Katherine

Police

The Katherine Dog Operations Unit, alongside Crime, Traffic, and Katherine General Duties officers, executed multiple drug search warrants over the Easter weekend as part of ongoing operations.

Across the operations, police seized trafficable quantities of methamphetamine and cannabis, as well as small amounts of cocaine along with more than $7,000 in cash.

On Saturday 4 April, police located a 31-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman allegedly selling cannabis from a residence in Katherine South. Approximately 400g of cannabis and nearly $3,000 in cash were seized. Both offenders were arrested and charged with:

  • Supply Schedule 2 Dangerous Drug
  • Possess Trafficable Quantity Schedule 2 Dangerous Drug
  • Receive Property from the Commission of an Offence

The pair are scheduled to appear before Katherine Court on 22 July.

On Sunday 5 April, officers executed a search warrant at a camping ground on the Victoria Highway in Katherine South.

A 43-year-old woman was allegedly found in possession of a trafficable quantity of methamphetamine, a controlled weapon, and more than $4,000 in cash.

She was arrested and charged with:

  • Supply Schedule 1 Dangerous Drug
  • Possess Trafficable Quantity Schedule 1 Dangerous Drug
  • Receive Property from the Commission of an Offence
  • Possess a Controlled Weapon

She was remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear in court on 19 May 2026.
