The Northern Territory Police Force is calling for information after an assault on the Stuart Highway near the intersection of Commonage Road in Alice Springs yesterday.

Around 6:40pm, police received reports a man was assaulting a woman on the median strip along the Stuart Highway.

Emergency Services attended and the 28-year-old woman was transported to the Alice Springs Hospital for treatment for non-life threatening injuries.

A 36-year-old male, known to the woman, was arrested at the scene with investigations ongoing.
