The Northern Territory Police is calling for information after a female was assaulted in Darwin City overnight.
Around 3am, police conducting patrols along Darwin Esplanade located a female victim at an information shelter with visible injuries.
It is alleged the victim was assaulted by a 59-year-old male known to her at around 2am. She was conveyed to Royal Darwin Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries to her face and head.
Police have since arrested the male and are continuing to investigate the incident.
