The Northern Territory Police Force has arrested a male following an aggravated assault at a bus exchange in Palmerston on Sunday night.

Around 6:05pm, the Joint Emergency Services Communication Centre received multiple reports of a male allegedly physically assaulting security staff and members of the public at a bus exchange.

Police and St John Ambulance attended the scene. A 24-year-old male was arrested and remains in police custody with charges expected to follow.

A victim was conveyed to Palmerston Regional Hospital for medical treatment.
