Strike Force Trident, Dog Operations Unit and Palmerston General Duties have arrested five offenders following a pursuit involving a stolen motor vehicle in Yarrawonga.
During the early hours of Sunday morning, a Toyota Landcruiser was allegedly stolen from a business in Yarrawonga.
Police obtained CCTV footage from a business in Holtze that captured all five offenders inside the stolen vehicle.
Around 3am, the vehicle was observed driving suspiciously in the Northern Suburbs. Trident members attempted a traffic apprehension, but the vehicle failed to stop.
Police initiated a pursuit along McMillans Road which resulted in the Landcruiser turning off into bushland behind Pinelands. Police initiated a search phase, locating the Toyota abandoned behind Wallaby Holtz Road.
The Dog Operations Unit commenced tracking which led to police locating three offenders hiding in a small tank yard.
These offenders included an 18-year-old male and two youths – a 14-year-old male and a 15-year-old male.
Later that morning Strike Force Trident arrested the remaining two offenders, a 14-year-old male and a 16-year-old male, located in Palmerston.
All five offenders were charged with Driving / Riding / Using a Motor Vehicle without consent.
The vehicle was secured by police, and the registered owner was contacted.
