The Northern Territory Police Force has located the body of a man who went missing near Willowra on Tuesday.

The man was last seen swimming in the Lander River at the edge of Willowra around 1pm on Tuesday afternoon.

A search and rescue operation commenced with his body being located a short time ago by search teams.

Police are working closely with the man's family and community members.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
