Call for information – Aggravated robbery – Tennant Creek

The Northern Territory Police Force is calling for information in relation to an aggravated robbery that occurred in Tennant Creek yesterday evening.

Around 9:45pm, the Joint Emergency Services Communication Centre (JESCC) received a report of an aggravated robbery at an address on Ambrose Street.

A 65-year-old female was home when she heard someone trying to break into her residence through the front door. It is alleged when the victim went outside, she encountered up to eight unknown offenders, some of whom were armed with blunt weapons.

The offenders allegedly swung the weapons at the victim, but did not make contact, before stealing her phone from her and forcibly removing her property’s security cameras. The victim retreated inside the residence and the offenders fled on foot.

Unknown offenders allegedly later returned to the residence and stolen a number of items before once again fleeing the scene.

Police investigations are ongoing and anyone with information, including CCTV or dash cam footage of any suspicious behaviour in the vicinity of Ambrose Street, is urged to contact police on 131 444. Please quote reference NTP2500100261.
