Arrest – Aggravated robbery – Alice Springs

The Northern Territory Police Force has arrested a 15-year-old male in relation to an aggravated robbery that occurred in Alice Springs in the early hours of yesterday morning.

Around 1am, police received a report of a taxi driver being robbed in Bloomfield Street in Gillen. The male youth offender allegedly attended the scene in a gold Holden Commodore sedan and threatened the taxi driver with a knife, before stealing cash and fleeing in the Commodore.

The offender’s face was allegedly covered during the incident. The taxi driver was uninjured.

Strike Force Viper took carriage of the investigation, and yesterday a 15-year-old male was arrested. He has since been charged with Aggravated robbery and was remanded to appear in court today.
