Arrest – Aggravated assault – Darwin

The Northern Territory Police Force have arrested a 30-year-old male in relation to an aggravated assault that occurred in Darwin City on Saturday evening.

Around 5:50pm, the Joint Emergency Services Communication Centre received reports that a male had allegedly been stabbed by a male known to him during an altercation on Tomaris Court.

Police and St John Ambulance attended the scene and located the victim with injuries consistent with having been stabbed. The victim was treated at the scene before being conveyed to Royal Darwin Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

The alleged offender attempted to flee the scene but was arrested by police after a short foot pursuit.

The alleged offender remains in police custody with investigations ongoing.  Charges are expected to follow.
