The Northern Territory Police Force has arrested and extradited a 28-year-old man in relation to multiple domestic violence incidents that occurred in Queensland last year.
The man allegedly committed domestic violence offences in Queensland between August and December before travelling to the Northern Territory.
The Northern Domestic & Family Violence Unit arrested him on 9 January in the suburb of Yarrawonga with assistance from the Territory Response Group and Queensland Police.
Queensland Police have since successfully extradited the 28-year-old offender back to Queensland.
Detective Senior Sergeant Hayley Duncan said, “Domestic and family violence continues to be a significant concern in all jurisdictions in Australia.
“It affects individuals, families, and communities, and has far-reaching consequences.
“We are committed to working with other law enforcement agencies to ensure perpetrators of domestic violence are held accountable for their actions, regardless of where they attempt to evade responsibility.
