Call for information - Crime series - Alice Springs

Northern Territory Police are calling for information in relation to a crime series that occurred in Alice Springs overnight.

Between 12.10am and 12.25am this morning, the Joint Emergency Services Communication Centre received multiple reports of a group of offenders throwing rocks at premises in Giles Street, Sturt Terrace and Lindsay Avenue in East Side.

Several premises sustained damaged to windows.

The offenders were allegedly demanding entry to the homes, before fleeing the area on foot. One victim on Sturt Terrace was confronted by the group, who demanded his car keys before allegedly assaulting him with a stick. The victim suffered minor injuries and did not require medical treatment.

General duties members responded, arresting a 22-year-old male nearby after a short foot chase. He was subsequently charged with Damage to property.

The remaining offenders remain outstanding, and investigations are ongoing.
