Arrest – Trespass – Alice Springs

Northern Territory Police have arrested a male youth in relation to a trespass incident that occurred in Alice Springs yesterday.

Around 2.40pm, a group of six male youths allegedly attended an address on Mills Street in East Side and attempted to unlawfully enter a number of vehicles. The youths were confronted by the occupier of the residence, who they allegedly threatened before leaving.

Around 3.50pm, the youths attended and entered a school on Winnecke Avenue. The youths approached a teacher and allegedly asked about the location of her car and its keys. They fled the scene without incident when two other teachers arrived.

The occupier of the Mills Street address followed the group into the Alice Springs CBD and flagged down police to report what had allegedly occurred.

One of the youths was located and arrested by police, before being released into the care of a responsible adult.

The other youths involved remain outstanding, and Northern Territory Police are investigating.
