Northern Territory Police have arrested a 21-year-old man in relation to an aggravated assault in Palmerston overnight.

Around 8:45pm, police received reports of an armed man travelling on public transport in Palmerston.

The man allegedly threatened Transit Security Officers with an edged weapon before they were able to restrain and disarm him.

Police attended and arrested the man who was later charged with Assault a worker, Threats to kill and Going armed in public.  He was remanded in custody to appear in court 21 June 2024.

Police urge anyone who witnessed the incident to contact 131 444 and quote job number NTP2400060323.
