Northern Territory Police are calling for information about the movements of a Ford Ranger, Wildtrak in relation to the discovery of a deceased male on Undoolya Road east of Alice Springs on New Year’s Day.
Detectives have identified the man as a 19-year-old of African descent who is believed to be an Alice Springs resident.
Last night, police seized a black coloured, dual-cab ute, with registration NT CE69DM which is believed to have been driven around Alice Springs during the early morning on New Year’s Day through until the early afternoon.
Police do not believe the owner was in possession of the vehicle at the time.
Police are urging anyone who may have seen the vehicle or has dash cam or CCTV footage of the vehicle between the hours of 3am and 1pm on 1 January 2024 to contact them immediately.
A forensic pathologist has conducted an autopsy and will provide a preliminary report as to the cause of death. Police will release appropriate information in due course.
