Northern Territory Police are calling for witnesses after a fatal hit and run in Ludmilla overnight.
Around 9:40pm, police received reports that a vehicle had struck a pedestrian on the inbound lane of Bagot Road, Ludmilla, near the pedestrian bridge.
Emergency services deployed and a 30-year-old man was declared deceased at the scene.
The vehicle did not stop to render assistance. The alleged female driver of the vehicle has since made herself known to police and is currently assisting with enquiries.
The inbound lanes on Bagot Road are closed from Fitzer Drive and traffic diversions are in place.
The outbound lanes remain open; however, may be subject to restrictions.
Motorists are advised to follow all directions and restrictions are expected to remain until 9am.
Detective Senior Sergeant Richard Musgrave said “Investigations are in their early stages and detectives are urging anyone with information to make contact ion 131 444. Please quote reference 2300010729.”
