Northern Territory Police are investigating a fatal crash in Weddell this morning.

Just before 5:30am, police received a report of a collision between a vehicle and a motorbike on Finn Road.

The vehicle was allegedly travelling along Finn Road when the driver attempted to overtake another vehicle and collided with the motorcyclist.

A male motorcyclist died at the scene and a male driver was conveyed to Royal Darwin Hospital in a critical condition.

Detectives from Major Crash Investigation Unit are investigating the incident and the road is expected to reopen by 2:30pm.

Investigators are urging anyone who was travelling on Finn Road and witnessed the crash to make contact on 131 444.
