A 24-year-old woman has died in hospital following a single vehicle crash on Sunday 15 October 2023.

In the early hours of the morning, it is alleged the 24-year-old female driver was travelling on Ellery Drive, Larapinta, with five passengers.

The vehicle has lost control and struck a light pole, resulting in critical injuries to the driver and another female passenger.

The 24-year-old driver was airlifted to Royal Adelaide Hospital with critical injuries while the second injured passenger, aged 24, remains in Alice Springs Hospital with serious injuries.

The remaining passengers allegedly fled the scene immediately post-crash.

Detectives from the Major Crash Investigation Unit are investigating the incident.
