Northern Territory Police are investigating after two serious assaults in Tennant Creek and Alice Spring’s overnight.
Around 10:30pm, police received reports a 46-year-old man had been allegedly assaulted with an edged weapon by another man who was known to him in the vicinity of Blackmore Road, Tennant Creek.
The man suffered serious injuries to his torso and was conveyed to Tennant Creek Hospital and has since been transferred to Alice Springs Hospital for treatment.
Police arrested a 37-year-old man shortly after the incident. He remains in custody and is expected to be charged later today.
At 11:30pm, police received reports a 36-year-old man had also been allegedly assaulted with an edged weapon by a male who was known to him in the vicinity of Anzac Hill Road, Alice Springs.
The man suffered non-life-threatening injuries to his torso and arms and was conveyed to Alice Springs Hospital for treatment.
Police arrested a 44-year-old man shortly after the incident. He remains in custody and is expected to be charged later today.
