Charges – Robbery – Greater Darwin Region

Police

Northern Territory Police have charged two youths, aged 11 and 12, for their involvement in multiple incidents last month.

Detectives had been investigating a break-in at a shopping centre on Leanyer Drive, where police will allege an 11-year-old used an axe and hammer to unlawfully enter the store.

The same youth and a 12-year-old were involved in two more incidents in Casuarina, where the pair allegedly stole items from a service station while threatening the employee with a screwdriver, before later stealing a handbag from a woman in a nearby carpark accompanied by several co-offenders.

Both youths were arrested by Strike Force Trident yesterday, after an attempted unlawful entry at another business in Casuarina.

The pair have been charged with multiple property offences and were remanded to appear before court today.
