Northern Territory Police are on scene investigating a two-vehicle crash near Batchelor, in which a person has died.

 

Detective Senior Sergeant Brendan Lindner said "Just after midday, emergency services received a report involving a serious two-vehicle crash near the intersection of Stuart Highway and Batchelor Road. 

 

"An elderly woman has been taken to Royal Darwin Hospital via CareFlight. Major Crash detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash."

 

A road closure is in place for the Stuart Highway while the scene is processed.  Diversions are in place but motorists should expect delays and avoid the area if possible.
